Project Planning & Control Specialist, Cairo; Egypt

As a Project Planning & Control Specialist you will be a part of the Power Grids Division and Business Unit Grid Integration based in Cairo, Egypt. You will lead planning, scheduling and cost control efforts for all project phases. Maintain and analyze actual and forecasted schedules, cost and risk. Monitor, report and manage deviations.Your main responsibilities in this role will include: Instructions and Guidelines: Ensuring projects follow sound methodology and execution practices in accordance with internal standard procedures. Ensuring that an integrated schedule and cost control performance measurement process for the project’s entire scope of work is provided.Planning and scheduling: Analyzing project requirements with project team, checking that all essential work activities have been identified in sufficient detail to serve as a basis for developing realistic project schedules. Defining, jointly with the project team, project work and cost breakdown structure, developing and maintaining properly linked, required resource loaded/integrated, baseline and current scheduling that provide time phased baseline, actual and forecast data for project. Monitoring project progress and regularly analyzing project critical paths to ensure all critical path activities and project milestones are progressed to the plan, notifying Project Managers of any deviations or scheduling issues, and providing input for optimizing resources. Issuing progress reports, program updates and productivity data on a regular basis and as requested by customers and stakeholders.Cost, revenue and cash flow management: Establishing a baseline plan for cost and cash flow performance measurement. Working with project team to define the necessary resources for project completion, evaluating the work breakdown structure and standard productivity. Accurately monitoring costs and project cash flow, maintaining detailed estimate to complete and estimate at completion forecast, analyzing variances by using earned value management techniques and advises project management on any cost and cash flow issues arising.Change management: Working closely with engineering, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, client and contractors to identify potential changes in scope and quantify the impact of each change in a timely fashion. Administering the change order systems and advising the Project Manager on the cost impact of potential changes and ensuring the control estimate/budget is current and reflecting changes.Risk management: Working with project team to identify and assess the priority of project risks (e.g. schedule, cost and scope risks), maintaining the risk register and proposing mitigation plans. Analyzing impact of risk on the overall timeline and costs.Procurement: Integrating material resource requirements with project schedule and defining procurement activities and order lead times. Regularly communicating with SCM team and updating schedules to ensure procurement activities take place in a timely way and lead times are optimized to meet schedule targets.Project reviews: Participating in project reviews. Composing reports and updating all required project data in Project Control systems and SAP for Management Information and Project Analysis. Communicating project progress and control issues to project management team and offers solutions.As the ideal candidate, you should have a Bachelor’s degree in Power Electric Engineering with +5 years’ experience in Engineering Procurement and Contracting (EPC). Knowledge of ABB SAP & REMSEC Systems. Proficiency in both spoken & written English & Arabic language is required.If you are interested to join our team, apply directly.
