R&D Engineer, 10th of Ramadan City; Egypt
Job Description
As a R&D Engineer you will be a part of the Electrification Products Division and Business Unit Building Products based in 10th of Ramadan City; Egypt. You will research for metal enclosures local business unit, inside Low Voltage Products Division, a R&D Engineer as Mechanical Designer. Strong positions in R&D are a prerequisite for ABB's business success.
Tasks
Your main responsibilities in this role will include:
-Modeling, designing and the build-up of prototype, identifying and assessing new technologies.
-Executing feasibility studies on the applicability in the wide and versatile field of ABB products.
-Presentation of research results within ABB and customers.
-Designing and developing the innovative industrial solutions, executing R&D projects in close cooperation with international ABB business units, the Corporate Research Centers and eventually external research institutes.
-Cooperating with marketing colleagues to write new product specifications and providing the support for preparing marketing documents and tools.
-Supporting the engineering department in implementing the investment and the cost analysis.
-Negotiating with the clients to ensure their satisfaction, providing all information about projects, problems and corrective actions.
-Contacting with ABB factories and outside suppliers.
-Contacting client for special and customized solutions.
-Regularly checking the progress of the project to grant the targeted profitability.
-Collecting and organizing the technical data.
-Management and archiving in SAP Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) of the technical documentation.
Requirements
As the ideal candidate, you should have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering with 0-2 years’ experience in Mechanical design is preferred. Strong knowledge of design software 2D and 3D, preferable SOLIDWORKS. Proficiency in both spoken & written English & Arabic language is required. German is a plus.
