Job TitleLeader, Marketing and Communications, NAFCABackground & Role Purpose: The mission of Worldwide Marketing & communications is to maximize franchise value across the Mastercard Worldwide portfolio of assets and to champion and embed the Consumer-led strategy across the organization. The primary purpose of this role is to lead the Marketing & Communications function for the NAFCA (Egypt & North Africa) cluster. The role will report to the MENA Head of Marketing & Communications and NAFCA cluster General Manager and will be based out of the Mastercard Cairo office. Role Responsibilities Develop cluster marketing & communications plans in collaboration with the MENA Head of Marketing & Communication and NAFCA General Manager ensuring all resources and investments are dedicated to initiatives that are both locally relevant and in alignment with country, regional and Global priorities and strategiesBuild brand health, image & preference based on consumer insights and consistent with global brand positioningLead media relations for the cluster and build a strong media network to drive thought leadership, ensuring Mastercard news is top of mindLeverage relationships with key media and industry analysts to deliver a holistic traditional/earned media program in support of planned product/service launches and corporate announcementsLead development of local Communications content including, press releases, factsheets, brochures, briefing documents and newslettersManage local CSR activities, B2B corporate hospitality events and executive visitsManage the local marketing and communications budget including preparing annual and monthly budget forecasts; control actuals vs. forecast accuracy; ensure full compliance with marketing and communication budget spending procedureWork closely with Account leads/country managers to influence spending of marketing CBA funds, and propose marketing initiatives to optimize usage of country MDF funds.Build and execute consumer, issuer and merchant activities/promotions in the areas of card issuance; cardholder activation, usage and loyalty programsDrive application and customization of Mastercard assets (consumer intelligence, brand, sponsorships and partnerships) to develop value-add programs which differentiate Mastercard as a preferred business partnerWork closely with the product and emerging payments team to build and execute marketing activities to drive consumer and merchant adoption of new productsGrow the Mastercard digital solutions and mobile payment ecosystem in the clusterManage all relevant suppliers including creative, media, digital & research agencies. This includes briefing, content creation, approvals and execution of all such projectsCollect and analyze market data, in addition to conducting market research (VoC), to develop insight led activitiesUse measurement tools to assess the impact of communications programs to refine activitiesCorporate Leadership Principles: a) Encourages Thoughtful Risk Taking b) Emphasizes Empowerment and Accountability c) Operates with a Sense of Urgency Experience and Skills Requirement:Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods, Payment Technology, Banking and/or Telecommunication Industry.Strong relationship management skills and ability to work collaboratively across multiple groupsAbility to translate complex business, economic and policy issues material into easily understood, actionable programsComfortable presenting complex issues to internal and external audiencesSolid understanding of balancing and prioritizing needs of multiple stakeholdersExpertise in managing traditional & digital marketing initiatives.Excellent (verbal and written) communication & presentation skills.Strong Interpersonal, negotiation and Influencing skills.Strong budget management, data and financial analysis skills (i.e., profit calculations, ROI, etc).Ability to prioritize, multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Education, Qualifications and Experience: BA or Advanced Degree in Business Administration, Marketing and/or Communications Languages: English & Arabic – Native, French – desirable Reporting Relationships Directly Reports To: MENA Head of Marketing & Communication and NAFCA General Manager.
