Job Description:
As a Planning Engineer at ACC, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of our projects by developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules and resources. You will work closely with project managers, site engineers, and other stakeholders to optimize project timelines and mitigate potential delays.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Scheduling:
- Develop comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 or other relevant software, considering project scope, resources, and constraints.
- Create and maintain baseline schedules, progress updates, and earned value reports.
- Analyze project requirements and develop detailed work breakdown structures (WBS).
- Identify critical paths and potential risks to project timelines.
- Prepare and update resource histograms and cash flow projections.
Progress Monitoring & Control:
- Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule and identify deviations.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and gather data.
- Prepare and present progress reports to project management and stakeholders.
- Analyze delays and develop mitigation strategies.
- Track and manage variations and change orders.
Coordination & Communication:
- Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Participate in project meetings and provide schedule-related input.
- Communicate schedule updates and potential issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure that all parties are aware of project timelines and milestones.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, reports, and presentations.
- Generate and analyze earned value management (EVM) reports.
- Prepare delay analysis reports and claims documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of project progress and changes.
Optimization & Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency and reduce costs.
- Implement best practices in project planning and scheduling.
- Contribute to the development of company-wide planning standards and procedures.
- Review subcontractor schedules and ensure integration with master schedule.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 3-8 years of experience in construction planning, preferably with a reputable construction company.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and other project management software.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, scheduling techniques, and cost control principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
