The role
As a Compliance Analyst, you will be Vezeeta's technology compliance specialist. You will help scale and improve Vezeeta’s technology compliance program to accommodate the growing and evolving needs of our customers and partners. This is a unique opportunity to advance our focus on compliance as a competitive advantage that grows our business and increases customer confidence in our service offerings.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a deep understanding of our multi-product healthcare management platform and its supporting infrastructure, software components and processes; specifically, the platform compliance with legal, privacy and security laws, certifications, and regulations as needed.
- Interpret and assess the impacts of HIPAA compliance to Vezeeta.
- Drive planning, execution, monitoring, and overseeing projects that are related to Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) standards and transactions, including HIPAA and other regulations.
- Provide responses to and maintain reference material for inquiries and due diligence procedures that involve technology compliance.
- Continuously confirm and refine Vezeeta’s internal documentation (e.g., policies, procedures, narratives, training material).
- Develop, perform, test, and report on evolving organization processes.
- Actively identify and communicate control gaps; help the company develop and confirm remediation efforts.
- Liaise with external auditors and internal partners to facilitate audit procedures and evidence gathering.
- Support third party oversight processes, including security and compliance assessments of Vezeeta’s vendors and service providers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of security or compliance analysis, or assurance/advisory experience, preferably including building controls in the technology space with 3+ years of experience interpreting HIPAA rules and regulations in healthcare
- Experience mapping and rationalizing controls to meet requirements across multiple information security/technology compliance standards in healthcare (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST)
- Experience with various Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) methods, such as point-to-point EDI, EDI Network Services Provider, FTP over VPN, SFTP and FTPS, etc.
- Experience performing complex systems analysis
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred
- CISA, CISM, CISSP, or related certification preferred
- Experience using governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) tools preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to a wide spectrum of personalities
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple projects efficiently and effectively with minimal day-to-day oversight/direction
