Job Description
Role Purpose
The Solutions presales team is responsible for providing end to end solutioning that support our enterprise customers in their cloud transformation journeys.
The role of the Presales Cloud Consultant is to successfully open/generate, engage, position and secure the technical selection of Vodafone IaaS, SecaaS and Co-location services. The Presales Cloud Consultant is expected to work closely with the sales and product teams, own the solution opportunity from a technical perspective, engage continually with customers and drive the opportunity to sales closure. In doing this, the Presales Cloud Consultant would build a trusted advisor relationship with key customer executives, evaluation team members and decision makers.
As a Presales cloud Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Act as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced presales. Focus on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develop training for other presales. Develop and deliver outstanding presentations and demonstrations. Lead any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises clients on overall Consultant solutions.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership
• RFP/RFI responses, sizing and capacity estimation, cost benefit analysis derivation
• Generate services opportunities and pipeline.
• Formulate and lead the cloud solutioning engagement with potential and existing customers
• Lead presales technical/functional.
• Develop and deliver outstanding presentations and demonstrations
• Be creative with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt and succeed in a fast paced and continuously evolving
• Leverage assets that help simplify available information into key sales messages helping sales teams with value based selling.
• Actively participate in organizational skill exchanges and transfers expertise to others
• Continuous improvement in self-research, learning and readiness on the new public and Hybrid cloud services offerings.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience
• 6+ years of Presales experience promoting and designing datacenter, hosting or cloud services.
• Hands-on experience with VMware cloudstack and solutions (vSphere, NSX)
• Experience with network and security layers
• Ability to translate workload requirements into public cloud or hybrid cloud technical architecture, incorporating Compute, Networking and Storage requirements in the architecture
• Experience in understanding regulatory and enterprise security considerations and designing solutions factoring such considerations
• Ability to Consultant for high availability, fail over & disaster recovery in public or hybrid cloud environments
• Experience of transforming on prem solutions into Cloud Service
• Familiar with AWS, Azure cloud services.
• Familiar with Servers, Storage (Block and Object), and Backup solutions.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience continued
• Familiar with Applications technologies:
o Applications development on Java/.NET, Python, Go, open source development tools
o Relational databases, NoSQL databases.
• Familiar and have a broad understanding of applications and systems from Oracle, Microsoft, SAP, IBM etc.
• Business and commercial acumen and the ability to understand overall customer and business value, and ability to qualify leads.
• Excellent cross-functional management skills and the ability to build strong relationships across the business, leadership teams and with external stakeholders and customers.
• Exceptional listening, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage a range of different personality types in a facilitative and mature manner.
• Interest in new technologies and emerging global service delivery trends
• Attention to details with a keen eye on the final target.
• Self-starting and self-motivation
• Keen-ness to learn continuously about the industry, domain, solutions and products

• Ability to analyze and innovate as needed, to address different market and customer requirements
Must have technical / professional qualifications
• 7+ plus ICT experience
• Proven track record performing a Cloud Consultant presales role, ideally within a Technology enterprise.
• Solid IT offering background preferably with technical education.
• Hands-on General IT experience is a must.
• A Commercial experience is essential
• Professional knowledge about Partner development and business
• Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of written and verbal formats with a wide range of people - external individuals, organizations and agencies
• Ability to manage team, contracted staff, partnerships and relationships
• Strong time management skills and motivation – ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
• Understanding of revenue reporting needs and effective data & information management issues
• Ability to work and contribute effectively to a team
• Commitment to own personal professional development
• Experience of assessing and/or evaluating individuals and projects
Key performance indicators
• Build strong Cloud Solutions pipeline
• Increase Cloud pipeline to fulfil planned budget.
• Finalize cloud deals with different stakeholders internally and externally in addition to abiding to Vodafone processes with internal stakeholders [Products team, Delivery & technology teams]
