SENIOR GENERAL LEDGER ACCOUNTANT

Job Title: Senior General Ledger Accountant

Job overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the general ledger functions, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, and maintaining the integrity of the company’s financial data. The Senior General Ledger Accountant will play a critical role in financial reporting, month-end closing activities, and process improvements.

Responsibilities:
– Manage and maintain the integrity of the general ledger accounts, including balance sheet, income statement, and other financial statements.
– Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
– Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
– Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate any discrepancies or variances.
– Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and analysis for management and external stakeholders.
– Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations based on the analysis of financial data.
– Collaborate with internal and external auditors during the audit process, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
– Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the general ledger function.
– Stay updated on accounting regulations and best practices and ensure compliance with applicable laws and guidelines.

Job Requirements:
– BSC Degree in Commerce, Major Accounting.
– Two Proven Years of experience as a Senior General Ledger Accountant, specifically in a healthcare setting.
– Thorough understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations (GAAP, IFRS, etc.)
– Strong knowledge of general ledger systems and financial software; proficiency in SAP system is a must
– Proficient in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; experience with data analysis and reporting tools is desired
– Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
– Ability to work independently and in a team, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
– Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels
– Experience in process improvements and implementing best practices in the general ledger function
