R&D Senior Engineer, 10th of Ramadan City

As a R&D Senior Engineer, you will be a part of the Electrification products (EP) Division and Building Products (BP) business unit based in 10th of Ramadan City. ABB is the world’s leader in Electrification products, it offers a full range of technologies across the electrical value chain from substation to the point of consumption, enabling safer more reliable power flow. Digital and connected innovations to improve the reliability and efficiency for low- and medium-voltage electrical installations, including EV infrastructure, solar inverters, modular substations, distribution automation, switchgear, measuring and sensing devices, control products, including KNX systems designed to integrate and automate a building’s lighting, ventilation, heating, and security, wiring accessories, enclosures and cabling systems, data communication networks, and power protection.

Tasks

Your Tasks as a R&D Senior Engineer will include the following: Model, design and build-up prototype, identify and assess new technologies, execute feasibility studies on the applicability in the wide and versatile field of ABB products, presentation of research results within ABB and customers. Design and develop innovative industrial solutions, execute R&D projects in close cooperation with international ABB business units, the Corporate Research Centres and eventually external research institutes. Cooperate with marketing colleagues to write new product specifications. Support the engineering dept. with the implementation of investment and cost analysis. Negotiate with the Clients to ensure their satisfaction, provide all information about projects, problems and corrective actions. Contact with ABB factories and outside suppliers. Client contact for special and customized solutions. Regularly check the progress of the project to grant the targeted profitability. Collect and organize the technical data Manage and archive in SAP PLM all the technical documentations.

Requirements

Ideally, you should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Design with 5 years of significant experience in R&D/technical department is highly preferred for this role. Proficiency in English is required, proficiency with German language is a plus. Expertise with tools like 2D and 3D system, SOLIDWORKS, SAP and SAP-PLM would be of advantage on this role.
