Job Title: Junior Accountant
Job Summary:
A Junior Accountant is responsible for assisting senior
accounting staff in maintaining accurate financial
records for the organization. This role involves a variety
of accounting tasks, including preparing financial
reports, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring
compliance with financial regulations. The Junior
Accountant will work under the supervision of a senior
accountant or accounting manager and will have
opportunities for professional growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in
compliance with official guidelines and requirements.
- Prepare and maintain accounting documents and
records.
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve
discrepancies.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and
annual financial reports.
- Post and process journal entries to ensure all business
transactions are recorded.
- Update accounts receivable and accounts payable and
perform reconciliations.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial
forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with TAX regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure
timely filing.
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure accuracy.
- Support senior accountants in various accounting
projects and tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related
field.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and
practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks,
SAP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as
part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential
information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of tax preparation and compliance.
- Experience with financial analysis and reporting.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position.
- Office environment with standard working hours.
- Occasional overtime may be required during peak
financial periods.
