Accounts Payable Specialist - Construction background
Job Requirements:
Educational Background:
*Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
*Minimum of [4 years of experience in accounts payable, preferably within the construction industry.
Technical Skills:
*Proficiency in Accounting Software: Experience with ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
*Knowledge of Construction Billing Practices:
Familiarity with subcontractor payment processes, change orders, and job costing.
Financial Management:
*Invoice Processing: Ability to manage the end-to-end process for invoice receipt, validation, and payment.
*Reconciliation: Experience in reconciling accounts, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring accurate financial records.
Communication:
*Strong Communication Skills: Ability to interact effectively with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
*Problem-Solving: Skill in addressing and resolving payment issues and discrepancies.
Additional Skills:
*Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and financial documentation.
*Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Construction Industry Knowledge: Understanding of construction contracts, lien waivers, and project-specific financial documentation.
Certification: Relevant accounting certifications (e.g.,
