MEP Construction Manager for Paragon Developments

YOUR OPPORTUNITY!

We are looking for a MEP Construction Manager to join our team. You will act as the owner's representative, ensuring effective oversight of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) works in collaboration with the project consultant and main contractor. This role focuses on monitoring progress, cost, time, and quality to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project objectives. The MEP Construction Manager will also directly supervise subcontractors working under contracts with the owner, ensuring their performance aligns with project requirements. Additionally, they will assist the owner's project manager in addressing technical and commercial issues and ensure smooth project execution through to successful handover.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You will…

1. Project Oversight

• Represent the owner in all MEP-related matters on-site.
• Monitor the execution of MEP works to ensure alignment with project specifications, design intent, and quality standards.
• Ensure that the contractor and consultant adhere to the approved project schedule, budget, and contract requirements.

2. Supervision of Subcontractors

• Directly supervise subcontractors engaged under contracts with the owner, ensuring compliance with scope, quality, and timelines.
• Review and approve subcontractors' work schedules, progress reports, and deliverables.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities to ensure seamless integration with the main contractor's work.
• Address performance issues or non-compliance by subcontractors and escalate concerns when necessary.

3. Progress Monitoring and Reporting

• Track daily, weekly, and monthly progress of MEP activities and ensure milestones are met.
• Prepare and submit detailed progress reports to the Head of Construction and owner’s project manager.
• Highlight risks, delays, and deviations, and propose mitigation strategies.

4. Cost and Budget Management

• Verify contractor and subcontractor MEP work progress claims and ensure compliance with contract terms before payment approval.
• Monitor and control variations or changes in MEP scope, ensuring cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with the commercial team to review and negotiate claims, variations, and disputes related to MEP works

5. Quality Assurance and Control

• Conduct inspections to ensure MEP installations meet approved standards, specifications, and quality benchmarks.
• Coordinate with consultants to address non-conformities and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Oversee testing and commissioning activities for MEP systems to ensure readiness for handover.

6. Technical Support

• Assist in resolving technical issues related to MEP design and installation during the construction phase.
• Review shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals to ensure technical compliance.
• Coordinate with design consultants and contractors to address technical queries and propose solutions.

7. Stakeholder Coordination

• Act as a liaison between the owner, project consultants, contractors, and subcontractors for MEP-related activities.
• Facilitate coordination between civil, architectural, and MEP teams to avoid conflicts and ensure seamless integration of works.
• Attend project meetings and provide updates on MEP progress, risks, and issues.

8. Handover and Closeout

• Ensure proper documentation and submission of as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and warranties.
• Supervise final inspections and ensure successful commissioning and handover of MEP systems.
• Ensure all contractual obligations for MEP works are fulfilled before final handover.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

You...

• Minimum of 12years of experience in MEP construction management, with at least 5 years in a site-based leadership role.
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. from a recognized University or Colleges.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale construction projects, preferably in residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments.
• Experience in supervising subcontractors directly engaged by the owner.
• Conversant in AutoCad, BIM and Microsoft office.
• PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Relevant MEP-specific certifications (e.g., LEED, HVAC design, or electrical systems) are an advantage.
