Job Description :
The Fleet Engineer Specialist is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the company's vehicle fleet. The role involves diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, optimizing vehicle performance, and ensuring all fleet vehicles comply with safety and operational regulations. The candidate will contribute to maximizing fleet efficiency, reducing downtime, and minimizing costs.
Responsibilities :
1. Develop and implement routine maintenance schedules to ensure all vehicles operate effectively.
2. Identify and resolve mechanical problems in a timely manner to minimize vehicle downtime.
3. Track fleet performance and provide technical solutions to optimize efficiency and reduce operational costs.
4. Ensure all maintenance, repairs, and vehicle inspections are documented accurately to support compliance and reporting needs.
5. Ensure all vehicles meet company and regulatory safety standards, including environmental and operational requirements.
6. Coordinate with suppliers for parts and services, negotiating prices to ensure cost-effective maintenance solutions.
7. Monitor fuel usage and implement strategies to improve fuel efficiency across the fleet.
8. Perform periodic inspections to assess vehicle conditions, identify wear and tear, and recommend necessary repairs.
9. Work closely with the fleet management team to support operational projects, vehicle procurement, and upgrades as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. 2-3 years of experience in fleet management or vehicle maintenance, preferably in a distribution or logistics company.
3. Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures, including diagnostic tools and technologies.
4. Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards for fleet operations.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
